Unplugging and Recharging
The last 18 months have caught up with me. I’ve been operating at warp speed with a long weekend here or there, but I haven’t truly unplugged. I am overdue for a break and some “me” time. I haven’t seen my family in almost two years, since before the pandemic. I’m heading to California to rejuvenate for about 6 weeks. I’ll work some weeks, and I’ll play on other weeks.
If you’ve been following me for awhile you know I left my corporate HR career behind and took a leap of faith to focus on Calhoun Coaching & Consulting full time right before Covid-19 lockdown. I resigned in late January 2020 with an early March departure date so I could wrap things up and tie them with a bow. Literally two weeks after my last day, we were shut down as a nation.
Like many entrepreneurs and business owners, I tap danced my way through the first few weeks and months of the pandemic. I facilitated live virtual workshops, offered free consultations, and I spoke at events for professional associations.
Over the last year+, referrals rolled in and amazing new and longtime clients started reaching out for support. I am grateful that I have been able to start and build a business during these challenging and uncertain times. I am having so much fun and I love what I do!
I also know I need a little time off for myself and to connect with my family so I can be there to support my clients fully. I am taking my own advice about self-care! You will hear from me on WINSDays and from my clients in the WINSDay Wellspring. When I fully return to work in early December, I’ll be recharged and ready to go. And I’ll be a certified meditation teacher!
