Sharing my Gratitude
I am feeling especially grateful this Thanksgiving as I reflect on the year I’ve had professionally. I started the year with clarity on my goal to coach new leaders within my organization, and staying the course with that goal has led to a fulfilling year. My coaching pilot is going well, and I’m really enjoying it. The coachees are excited and engaged, which fuels my excitement and engagement. I have been overwhelmed by the response to my last two newsletters, where I shared my journey with you. Thank you for your support and encouragement. I’m glad my story has inspired you.
Careful planning and intention went into realizing this goal to coach new leaders at work. In order to make the kickoff a success, I tried to anticipate the questions, needs, and concerns of the coachees and their managers. I’m taking notes on things I will tweak in the future, and I’m pivoting as necessary. Overall, I’m proud of what I’ve done and pleased with how receptive the coaching clients and their managers are to this pilot program.
Details are especially important when you’re doing something new, so I placed particular attention on creating a strong platform. I want this coaching pilot to be meaningful for participants, and ultimately, I’d like for it to lead to more coaching for employees at all levels in the organization.
I made room in my work-life by letting go of some responsibilities from which I was ready to step away. Strong communication and a solid transition plan made it possible for me to turn over these responsibilities as my coaching pilot was taking off. It has been wonderful to create more space for the coaching pilot participants by making some necessary shifts.
My Calhoun Coaching & Consulting clients have also been an important part of my fulfilling year. I have amazing clients, and I’m honored to work with each of them. Whether we have a short-term coaching engagement, a single “jump start” conversation, or we have been working together for a while now, I value each of my clients and what I learn from them and about myself through the coaching process. Coaching new leaders continues to be gratifying.
If you know a new leader who wants to start their leadership journey on the right path, please refer them to me. I have two open evening time slots for new coaching clients – Monday and Wednesday evenings.
I would appreciate it if you would share my newsletter with those in your network and follow me on social media. I share inspiring quotes, leadership articles, and information on Facebook and Instagram. I’d like to expand my reach on social, so please “like”, comment, and share with those who would be interested in leadership growth and professional development. Join the conversation about leadership!
I am grateful for your support this Thanksgiving and always. I wish each of you and your loved ones a happy, fun-filled Thanksgiving and holiday season.
