Saluting and Supporting Our Sisters
March is Women’s History Month, and I have been honoring women all month with various events and planning for upcoming programs. This month I spoke at the LeadHERship conference for women in the parks and recreation industry. It’s an amazing annual conference I have been honored to be a part of for the last few years. I started by offering pro-bono coaching services to participants in 2019. I attended virtually in 2020, and Denise Corey and I spoke about Imposter Syndrome at their virtual event last year. This year, I presented an in-person session on Developing Your Employees Using Coaching Skills. I am always eager to support women leaders and help them reach their goals.
That’s why I’m also facilitating a conversation on Flawless Feedback at the upcoming WILD (Women Leaders & Innovators Network) Virtual 2022 Women in Global Development Leadership Forum, May 16 – 19. This event supports the development of strong and inclusive leaders across the global development sector. I have been impressed with prior WILD events I have attended, and my prior experience in HR was with an organization in this sector. In four days there will be 100+ inspiring speakers from 25 countries, 50 sessions jam-packed with inspiration, plus concrete and transferable knowledge that you can immediately apply. I am excited about participating as a speaker and a conference attendee.
The other way I am celebrating women this month is with the announcement of THRIVVE, my new group coaching program for Black professional women, which I am co-facilitating with Joelle LaGuerre, an incredible coach, presenter, trainer and friend. In our own experience and with what we see with our clients, there are Black professional women who could benefit from support navigating the challenges they face in their careers. Many women are seeking a safe space to process the trauma and racial injustices they have experienced, and they are ready to create a vision for the future based on self-empowerment and recognizing the value they bring to their organizations and their communities.
Our program begins April 18, and we are looking forward to helping Black women reach their personal and professional goals. Join us for a Free Info Session to learn more about THRIVVE.
How are you celebrating women in your organization? In your life? I would love to hear from you!
