
Merits of Meditation
Last month I wrote about the benefits of meditation, and the topic continues to be one that is important to me, especially during this challenging time in our collective lives. We are halfway through 2020, and we’ve been in lockdown for half that time. Meditation has helped me maintain my calm composure during this period of extreme uncertainty, first with the pandemic and now with racial injustice and concerns about what’s next.
Recently, my meditation teacher, davidji, who I wrote about last month, reached out to me to offer support for the Leading Through Uncertainty webinar series I’ve partnered with Michelle Sinon Jones to deliver. I was completely blown away. World renowned author, speaker, teacher and meditation expert davidji wants to lend his voice to our webinar series? Yes, please!
Michelle and I met to discuss what we envisioned for the Calm Under Pressure webinar, and we couldn’t think of a better facilitator to lead the conversation around mindfulness, the brain science behind meditation, and the connection to leadership and current events than davdji. The three of us hopped on Zoom to hammer out details, while also attempting to solve the world’s problems (we have more work to do––stay tuned!).
