Black Women in the Workplace
I am so excited to announce that my friend and colleague, Joelle LaGuerre and I will be offering a FREE workshop on two different dates titled Black Women in the Workplace: Don’t Just Survive––THRIVVE! This subject has been near and dear to my heart as a Black woman who had my own struggles in the corporate world. These struggles continue, which I see with my coaching clients in the issues they face at work. I knew I wanted to address this topic and was thrilled Joelle, a fellow coach, former HR leader, and expert facilitator and trainer wanted to join me.
Our first workshop will be hosted by HR Girlfriends on August 23, 4-5 pm eastern. The link to register for the August 23 workshop is here. The second workshop is on August 29, 12-1 pm eastern. Registration for the August 29 workshop is here. Choose the date that works best for you. You do not have to be an HR professional to attend August 23rd!
In our workshop, we will share how racism and sexism impact Black women in the workplace across industries and occupations in a variety of ways. Did you know Black women are the most educated demographic? You wouldn’t know that by looking at where we are in terms of leadership in organizations. Many of us are surviving, but are we thriving? Join us to learn what’s getting in the way and strategies to overcome those barriers.
In this FREE workshop, you will hear about our THRIVVE philosophy: Transforming Hurt & Racial Inequities into Vision, Value & Empowerment. You will also hear about the day-to-day experiences of black women in the workplace––through data and personal stories, and you will be invited to share your stories and connect with other participants.
All are welcome to attend. You don’t have to be in HR and you don’t have to be a Black woman. We need your allyship! Come learn about the challenges Black women face so you can support and uplift your friends, colleagues, and employees.
